Constructionline, SSIP and CAS Application Support

This product listing provides an overview of what can be covered with a day of remote support, spent on an approval scheme application.

Seven hours of consultant time: your Constructionline, SSIP, CHAS, SafeContractor or Common Assessment Standard questionnaire worked through, with the documents each answer needs prepared and named rather than left for you to find.

A named consultant, files shared securely, and a review of what you already hold so nothing usable is rebuilt from scratch.

To purchase go to Remote Support - Project, purchase 1 day (or more) of support and we will be in touch to discuss and plan your project.

These applications fail on evidence, not on safety. I see companies working perfectly safely who get sent back three times because the assessor wanted a signed policy, a training record and a named person, and what went up was a folder of PDFs in no particular order. What arrives from this is the answers written and each one pointing at a document that exists and says what it is supposed to say.

We publish guidance notes with suggested answers and evidence for each question set: Constructionline, Common Assessment Standard, CHAS and SafeContractor.

Constructionline, SSIP and CAS Application Support

Pre-qualification assessments are not difficult, they are just relentless. Every answer wants a document behind it, the document has to say the right thing, and it has to be signed, dated and current. Most rejections are not about how a company works. They are about what could be produced on the day.

A day of our remote support gets the application done. You tell us which scheme and tier you are going for and send us what you already hold. We work through the question set, write the answers, and prepare or correct the documents each answer depends on.

What You Get

  • The question set worked through - every question answered in your organisation's own terms, not a generic response an assessor has read a hundred times
  • The evidence prepared and named - each answer pointing at a specific document, so the assessor is not hunting through a folder
  • Your existing documents reviewed first - anything current and usable is kept and referenced rather than replaced
  • Gaps filled from the library - where an answer needs a policy, procedure, register or form you do not have, it comes from our document set, branded and tailored to you
  • Signatures, dates and version control put right - the most common reason evidence gets rejected
  • The health and safety core built properly - policy, responsibilities, risk assessments, training records, accident reporting and consultation arrangements, which is what the SSIP schemes are actually assessing
  • Resubmissions handled - if an assessor comes back with queries, the answers and evidence are already structured to respond to them

The Schemes This Covers

  • Constructionline - Bronze, Silver and Gold, including the Gold assessment where the fuller question set applies
  • The Common Assessment Standard - the question set that brings the aligned schemes and PAS 91 together, whichever assessment body you go through
  • SSIP member schemes - the health and safety assessments run under the Safety Schemes in Procurement umbrella
  • CHAS and SafeContractor - the two we are asked about most
  • FORS - the transport operator standard, where the document requirements work the same way
  • Client and framework questionnaires - the one-off PQQs a main contractor sends you, which usually ask for the same evidence in a different order

How Much One Day Covers

An application, for most organisations. We do not cap the number of questions, because the count is not what decides the time. A company with a current management system and tidy records moves quickly. A company starting from a shoebox, or going for Gold with several trades and sites, takes longer. The more context and information you give us, the better what we prepare will be. We work through as much as the time allows, in the order that matters most to you.

How the Work Gets Done

We use our own AI tooling to do the mechanical part of document preparation, and a consultant checks the output before it reaches you. It is the reason a day of support now produces far more finished documentation than it used to, at the same price it always was.

The tooling handles the volume - matching each question to the evidence it needs, pulling the right documents, branding them, and checking that what an answer claims is actually what the attached document says. The judgement stays with the consultant: whether an answer will satisfy this particular assessor, what to do where your arrangements genuinely differ from the question's assumption, and which gaps have to be closed before you submit rather than argued around.

Why a Day Goes This Far

Anyone can rent the same AI we use. What they cannot rent is what we point it at.

Behind this service is a document library built over 25 years - manuals, procedures, policies, registers, risk assessments, COSHH assessments, audit checklists and forms, covering every standard we work to and most situations a management system runs into. Each one has been through real audits, and corrected where an assessor pushed back. That is the part that took 25 years, and it is the part that cannot be generated.

Our tooling applies that library to your business. A general purpose AI, pointed at the same job, has nothing to apply, so it writes something that reads well and describes a company that does not exist.

What We Need From You

  • Which scheme and which tier you are applying for, and any deadline you are working to
  • Your login for the scheme's portal, or the question set exported from it
  • Your company details, registration number and trading address
  • What your business actually does, including the trades and sites in scope
  • Whatever you already hold - policies, risk assessments, training records, insurance certificates, accident records
  • Who holds which responsibility, and who is the competent health and safety contact
  • Any feedback from a previous submission that was rejected or queried

Other Things Remote Support Covers

A support day does not have to be spent on an application. The same day can be pointed at any one of these instead, and it is the same purchase either way:

A day can also go on things that are not document preparation at all - training, internal audits, a gap analysis, or simply working through a problem on a call. Remote Support - Project is the same day bought without a job attached to it.

Every one of these services is listed on the ISO consultancy support page, along with how a support day works and what is covered by a subscription.
