Internal Audit Training and Support

This product listing provides an overview of what can be covered with a day of remote support, spent on internal audit training.

Seven hours of consultant time: your people trained to audit your own management system, your audit programme built around your processes and certification dates, and the checklists and report forms set up against the standards you actually hold.

A named consultant, training delivered remotely, files shared securely by Dropbox, and certificates for your trainees on completion.

To purchase go to Remote Support - Project, purchase 1 day (or more) of support and we will be in touch to discuss and plan your project.

The Internal Audit Training Course Toolkit is the same course as a download - the presentation, the exercises, a worked evidence pack from a fictitious company, and certificate templates for your trainees. Run it yourself, in your own time.

Internal Audit Training and Support

Internal audit is the requirement many organisations get findings for in certification audits. It is because nobody has been told what an audit actually involves, so the job either gets skipped or turns into a tick sheet that finds nothing and proves nothing.

A day of our remote support fixes that at the root. We train your people to audit your own management system, set up the programme so the audits are planned rather than remembered, and give them the checklists and forms to work from.

What You Get

For the day:

  • Internal auditor training - delivered remotely to one person or a group, covering what an audit is for, how to plan one, how to gather evidence, and how to write up what you find
  • Practice on real material - the training works through a worked evidence pack, interview transcripts and completed checklists, so people have audited something before they audit you
  • Your audit programme set up - the audit schedule setup and built around your processes and your certification dates, so the year is planned rather than improvised
  • Checklists for your system - the audit checklists based on your management systems rather than a generic clause list (clause audits also covered)
  • The reporting side sorted - findings raised and follow-up route checked, so a finding leads to a corrective action and evidence that closed out
  • Certificates for your trainees - issued on completion, which is the evidence an assessor asks for when they ask how your auditor is competent
  • Completed audit checklists - actual audit checklists completed based on audits of your company to be retained as documented audit evidence

How Much One Day Covers

We work through as much as the time allows, in the order that matters most to you. The practical approach is to work through your management system and audit all key areas, if we don't cover everything we will leave notes on what still needs covered and your newly trained internal auditors will be able to get everything completed.

Who Should Be Trained

Not necessarily the person who owns the management system. An internal auditor cannot audit their own work, so the obvious candidate is often the wrong one. What the job needs is somebody who understands how the business actually operates, is trusted enough to ask a manager an awkward question, and is far enough from the process being audited to be objective about it. In a small business that usually means two people who audit each other's areas.

How the Work Gets Done

The training and audit support is delivered by a consultant, live. There is no automated part to that and there should not be.

Where our AI tooling helps is the preparation around it - building your audit schedule against your processes and certification dates, setting up checklists against the standards you actually hold, and branding the procedure and forms into your document set. That is the work that used to eat the back half of a training day.

The training material, the checklists and the forms are ours, developed over 25 years of real audits, and they are not AI generated.

Why a Day Goes This Far

Anyone can rent the same AI we use. What they cannot rent is what we point it at.

Behind this service is a document library built over 25 years - manuals, procedures, policies, registers, risk assessments, COSHH assessments, audit checklists, training material and forms, covering every standard we work to and most situations a management system runs into. Each one has been through real audits, and corrected where an assessor pushed back. That is the part that took 25 years, and it is the part that cannot be generated.

Our tooling applies that library to your business. A general purpose AI, pointed at the same job, has nothing to apply, so it produces training that sounds right and checklists that ask about a company that does not exist.

What We Need From You

  • Which standards you hold or are working towards
  • A list of your processes or departments, so the programme covers them
  • Your certification or surveillance dates
  • Who is being trained, and what they do in the business
  • Any existing audit schedule, checklists or past audit reports

Other Things Remote Support Covers

A support day does not have to be spent on training. The same day can be pointed at setting up your management system documentation, reformatting risk assessments, building COSHH assessments from safety data sheets, preparing a legal register, setting out your personal data register and AI policy, completing a Constructionline, SSIP or Common Assessment Standard application, converting an existing clause-based system into a readable one, or resetting your policies and staff handbook. It is the same purchase either way - see Enhanced IMS Setup for the full range, or Remote Support - Project to buy a day without a job attached to it.

Every one of these services is listed on the ISO consultancy support page, along with how a support day works and what is covered by a subscription.
