The Climate Change Review is a Word template for reviewing whether climate change is a relevant issue for your organisation and how it affects your management system. Each climate change impact or risk is recorded with its relevance to the management system, its relevance to interested parties, and the controls in place or actions required.
The IMS1 manual covers climate change in section 1.3 Context of the Organisation and refers to this review where a more detailed record is wanted.

Who Needs a Climate Change Review?
Organisations working towards or maintaining ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 or another ISO management system standard need to determine whether climate change is relevant to them. Climate change can be covered within the SWOT and PESTLE review, and this template suits organisations that want a separate, more detailed record.
Sample Data Version for Subscribers
Completed examples are available with an alphaZ subscription including: a review covering impacts such as extreme weather, rising temperatures, water and material resources, energy sources, emissions, climate-related regulations and changing demand for products and services.
Pairs with the Opportunities and Risks Register
Climate change is also considered in the SWOT and PESTLE review on the F-IMS23 Opportunities and Risks Register, with the relevant requirements of interested parties recorded on the F-IMS22 Interested Parties Register. Environmental impacts in detail are assessed on the F-IMS60 Environmental Aspects and Impacts Register, and the F-IMS62 Carbon Management Plan sets out your carbon position and reduction plan.
Included in the ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 22301 and ISO 37001 Toolkits
This review is part of the ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 22301 and ISO 37001 toolkits, including the integrated toolkits that combine them.
Using the Review
Start with the impacts most likely to reach your business, such as severe weather affecting premises, deliveries and travel, or changing energy and material costs. For each, note how it could affect your operations and the people you work with, then record the controls already in place, such as continuity arrangements or temperature controls, and any action still needed. Review it alongside your context and risks at management review, and record the reviewer and date each time.
