ISO Toolkits Updated - ISO 9001:2026 and a Full Document Review

Update Details: Basically everything has been updated - over 600 files, far too many to list one by one! The publication of ISO 9001:2026 was the catalyst, and a number of other improvements were queued so they could go out at the same time. The update covers every ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 27001, ISO 22301 and ISO 37001 toolkit, standalone and combined, and the BS EN 1090 toolkit, with changes made across alphaZ documents, so here are the highlights.

For ISO 9001 itself, the 2026 edition adds no new mandatory documents, so most of the changes are revised wording in documents a toolkit already holds. Every toolkit that includes ISO 9001 now supports both editions: the ISO 9001:2015 files stay in the \Draft\ folder, and the new ISO 9001:2026 Transition Guidance sets out which files to update, which to replace and which new files to add. The Transition Guidance is also a free download on every ISO 9001 toolkit page.

ISO Toolkit Changes

  • New 0 - IMS Setup folder - the Getting Started guide, IMS1 Manual Guidance, setup checklists and a maintenance checklist for whoever runs the system once it is certified.
  • One Procedures folder - policy procedures and operational procedures now sit together. The IMS1 procedures stay with the manual.
  • Refreshed IMS1 manual - an improved layout that is easier to use, a single point of reference for the key registers, and more flexibility with the IMS1 sub-procedures, so the manual can be split into separate files if preferred.

ISO Toolkit Documents Updated

Every file in the toolkits has been reviewed and updated, not only those linked to the ISO 9001:2026 changes. That includes:

  • All the IMS1 manuals and IMS1 procedures
  • All the IMS registers and Excel registers
  • All the form templates
  • All the policies and procedures
  • All the audit checklists and implementation checklists
  • All the ISO correlations and guidance documents
  • All the training talks, general guidance, training presentations and certificates
  • All the staff handbooks

In the combined toolkits, the ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 27001, ISO 22301 and ISO 37001 sections were reviewed and updated alongside the ISO 9001 core. The ISO 14001:2026 changes themselves were covered in May in ISO Toolkit Update - ISO 14001:2026.
