Integrated Management System (IMS) and ISO Compliance Training Talk
A training talk on the integrated management system (IMS) and ISO compliance for all staff - what the IMS is and how it affects them, where policies and procedures are kept, objectives, the ISO standards and how continual improvement works. The download gives you a one-page attendance record with the talk description already filled in, plus the two guidance documents to run the talk from.
Three Files in One Download
- TT-1-20 Integrated Management System (IMS) and ISO Compliance - the attendance record, with the topic and talk description ready to use and a signature line for each attendee
- GG-1-09 Integrated Management System (IMS) - guidance the talk is based on, to prepare from and to issue to staff afterwards
- GG-1-12 ISO Standards and ISO Certification - guidance the talk is based on, to prepare from and to issue to staff afterwards
Talk Description
- What the IMS is and how it affects you
- The IMS1 manual, the IMS folder and the IMS registers
- Company policies, procedures and guidance
- Company objectives and management review
- The ISO standards, their common structure and certification audits
- Continual improvement - improvement requests, problems forms and reporting near misses
Running the Talk
Read through the guidance beforehand, talk the points through with the team, then have everyone sign the record. Keep the signed record as evidence that the briefing took place and who received it.
Why Near Misses Feed Into Improvement
A near miss is a free warning, and reporting it lets the cause be fixed before anyone is hurt or anything is lost. The talk places near misses alongside improvement requests and problems forms so staff see reporting as a normal part of how the system improves.
Adapting the Talk
Both files are fully editable, so add the standards your IMS covers, where staff find the IMS folder and policies, and your current objectives. Update the talk description if you cover extra points.
Keeping the Training Record
File the signed record with your training records, or log the talk against each attendee in a training matrix, so you can show who has been briefed and when.
Who Is It For?
All staff, as a single overview of the management system and the standards behind it. It works well at induction and as a refresher before an external audit.
