No need for three separate sessions. This deck takes ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 together and shows where they match and where each one asks for something extra.
This presentation is supplied in fully editable MS PowerPoint format, so slides can be added, removed or edited to suit your organisation and your audience.

ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001 Awareness Training Course
The ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001 Awareness Training Course is a PowerPoint presentation for introducing staff to the quality, environmental and occupational health and safety management system standards in one session. It opens with what each standard is and the editions covered, sets out the harmonised structure they share, then works through clauses 4 to 10, explaining the common requirements once and showing where ISO 9001, ISO 14001 or ISO 45001 asks for something of its own.
The course supports clause 7.3 Awareness in each standard, which requires personnel to be aware of the policies and relevant objectives, their contribution to the management system and the implications of not conforming, plus quality culture and ethical behaviour, significant environmental aspects, and hazards and risks. It also shows managers how the standards fit together, as one integrated management system or separate systems.
What the Presentation Covers
- What are ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 - what each standard covers, the editions covered (ISO 9001:2026, ISO 14001:2026 and ISO 45001:2018 with its 2024 amendment), and the main changes, from climate change to quality culture and ethical behaviour
- Harmonized Structure and Clauses 1, 2 and 3 - the clause headings the three standards share, and why scope, normative references and terms and definitions carry no auditable requirements, so conformity is demonstrated against clauses 4 to 10
- Clause 4 Context of the Organisation - the same structure with a different focus for each standard, climate change and environmental conditions, interested parties and compliance obligations, scope, and one integrated management system or separate systems
- Clause 5 Leadership - shared leadership duties, customer focus and quality culture for ISO 9001, worker protection and health and safety committees for ISO 45001, the policy commitments specific to each standard, and consultation and participation of workers (5.4)
- Clause 6 Planning - risks and opportunities covered standard by standard, including the separate ISO 9001:2026 actions for risks and for opportunities, environmental aspects and compliance obligations, hazard identification, objectives and planning of changes (6.3)
- Clause 7 Support - resources, from infrastructure for on site, remote or combined working to organisational knowledge, competence, the awareness points for each standard, communication and control of documented information
- Clause 8 Operation for ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 - operational planning and control, a life cycle perspective for ISO 14001, the hierarchy of controls and contractors for ISO 45001, and emergency preparedness and response, including testing the planned response
- Clause 8 Operation for ISO 9001 - operational planning and control, requirements for products and services, design and development, control of external providers, production and service provision, release of products and services and control of nonconforming outputs (8.1 to 8.7)
- Clause 9 Performance Evaluation - monitoring and measurement across all three standards, customer satisfaction for ISO 9001, evaluation of compliance for ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 (9.1.2), internal audit and management review
- Clause 10 Improvement - continual improvement, nonconformity and corrective action, with incidents added for ISO 45001, and how the clause 10 structure of ISO 45001:2018 differs from ISO 9001:2026 and ISO 14001:2026
Who Needs an ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Awareness Course?
Any organisation implementing or maintaining ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, as one integrated management system or as separate systems, needs its people to understand what the three standards ask of them. The course suits small and medium sized businesses that want one awareness session covering quality, environment and health and safety, without bringing in an outside trainer. It also works as a refresher before internal or external audits, or as a starting point for the person leading the management system.
Included in the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Toolkits
This presentation is part of the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 toolkits, including the integrated toolkits that combine them.
Delivering the Course
Run the presentation as a group session or a one to one briefing, adding examples from your own business against each clause. Record who attended on the F-Q7 Training Talk Attendance Record and issue the IMS Awareness Certificate Template to each person who completes the session.
Where the Three Standards Differ
Rather than repeat each clause three times, the presentation explains every shared requirement once and labels the points that apply to only one or two of the standards. Where a clause differs too much to combine, it splits: clause 6 is covered standard by standard, and clause 8 takes ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 together before working through the ISO 9001 operation sub-clauses in turn.
Pairs with Other Training
For a wider introduction, the Introduction to the Integrated Management System explains how the integrated management system works and Introduction to ISO Audits and Certification covers the audit and certification process. Staff who go on to carry out internal audits can follow up with the Internal Audit Training Presentation.
