The Quarterly ISO and UK Legal Update
Every quarter we go through what has changed in UK legislation and in the ISO standards, and write up what it means for a management system that has to stay compliant. That is alphaZ-OUT. It is a PDF, it is written for the person running the system rather than for a lawyer, and every issue we have published stays in the alphaZ subscriber library.

- What is coming - pending and announced changes, so nothing lands as a surprise
- ISO standards activity - revisions, consultations and publication timetables for the standards we work to

Ready for Management Review
Every issue ends with a one-page Executive Summary of the last 12 months: ISO standards updated, legislation updated, upcoming changes and other external issues. It rolls forward each quarter, so whenever your management review falls, the latest issue is a current input on changes in external issues and legal requirements. Each item has its own bullet with the standard or legislation in bold, ready to copy into management review minutes or records.
Why It Is Worth the Half Hour
Clause by clause, the standards ask you to determine your compliance obligations, keep them current, and periodically evaluate compliance against them. None of that is difficult. It just needs somebody to notice when something moves, and that is the part that slips.
An out of date legal register is one of the more common findings at audit, and it is almost never because the register was built badly. It is because nothing prompted a review. A quarterly publication is the prompt.

Section 42 sounds like a piece of legislation. It is not. It is the one page in each issue that does not tell you what has changed - it asks you something instead. ISO 9001:2026 put ethical behaviour into the requirements, so ethics can come up at audit. Each instalment takes a problem from moral philosophy, asks what it looks like in your business, and ends with a few ideas to have ready when the question is asked. As for the name, we would rather not spoil it.

Every issue we have published is in the alphaZ subscriber library, and the file names carry the quarter and the year so the one you want is easy to find. The link to the library is emailed to you when your subscription starts.
The archive stays available for as long as you are subscribed, and anything you download is yours to keep.
