Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Risk Assessments
The new examples cover the typical scope of work for refrigeration and air conditioning engineers, including installation of equipment, electrical isolation and commissioning, the handling of refrigerants and pressure systems, associated hazardous substances and environmental risks, maintenance and repair, and working in cold stores, plant rooms and other specialist environments.
Each one is a pre-completed sample risk assessment prepared using the F-HS20 General Risk Assessment form and supplied in MS Word format, so it can be easily reviewed and edited to reflect your own operations.
New Risk Assessments;
- Installation of Air Cooling and Refrigeration Equipment - installation risks including manual handling, working at height, hot work and refrigerant handling
- Electrical Isolation and Commissioning - electric shock, safe isolation and lock-off, arc flash and testing of cooling equipment
- Refrigerants and Pressure Systems - asphyxiation, cold burns, flammable refrigerants and the handling and storage of cylinders
- Refrigeration Systems - Hazardous Substances and Environment - legionella, oils, glycols, biocides and the environmental impact of refrigerant releases
- Maintenance and Repair of Air Cooling and Refrigeration Equipment - moving parts, electrical work and lone working during servicing and repair
- Working in Extreme Temperatures and Specialist Environments - cold stores, hot plant rooms, confined spaces and remote locations, including thermal stress and lone working
