Site Pre-Start Template
A site pre-start check for confirming, before work begins, that hazards have been identified, controls are in place and effective, and the residual risk is acceptable. It records the relevant risk assessments and permits, the hazards and controls, and a decision to proceed or to stop and reduce the risk.
The duty to assess risk and put controls in place before work starts sits under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999. This pre-start check gives you that final confirmation and supports the risk assessment and operational control requirements of ISO 45001.
