ISO 22458:2022 Correlation and Guidance

The ISO 22458:2022 Correlation and Guidance brings together a correlation table and an overview and guidance document for ISO 22458:2022, the standard for consumer vulnerability. The correlation takes each clause of the standard and signposts where the evidence sits in the alphaZ consumer vulnerability procedure, registers and forms.

It is a working reference when setting up arrangements for consumers in vulnerable situations, checking them against the standard or preparing for an assessment.

Two Reference Documents

  • ISO 22458:2022 Correlation - a clause by clause table giving each requirement and where the evidence sits in IMS1 and the alphaZ documents
  • ISO 22458 Overview and Guidance - an introduction to the standard, its principles and each of its clauses, covering inclusive service design, identifying and responding to consumer vulnerability, consumer information, complaints and resources

What the Correlation Covers

  • Clause 4 Organisational Commitment, Principles and Strategy - mapped to the procedure and the consumer vulnerability register
  • Clause 5 Inclusive Design - mapped to the procedure, both registers and the inclusive design impact assessment
  • Clause 6 Resources to Support Service Delivery - mapped to the consumer vulnerability register
  • Clause 7 Identifying Consumer Vulnerability - mapped to the procedure and both registers
  • Clause 8 Responding to Consumer Vulnerability - mapped to the procedure and both registers
  • Clause 9 Monitoring, Evaluation and Improvement - mapped to the consumer vulnerability register

Who Needs an ISO 22458:2022 Correlation?

The correlation is for organisations dealing directly with consumers that use the alphaZ consumer vulnerability documents to meet ISO 22458:2022, to check each clause is covered and find the evidence quickly when preparing for an assessment.

Included in the ISO 22458 Toolkit

These documents are part of the ISO 22458 toolkit and the integrated toolkits that include it.

Using the Correlation

Work through the table with the consumer vulnerability procedure open, checking each evidence item is in place and reflects how you operate. The correlation is a PDF reference; for an editable clause by clause audit checklist use the ISO 22458:2022 Requirements Checklists.

Note: ISO clause checklists only include the clause numbers and short prompts for each clause (due to copyright reasons) and therefore a full version of the ISO standard is required to be used in conjunction with these checklists.

Related Documents

The correlation refers to documents such as PP-1-17 Consumer Vulnerability Policy Procedure, the ER24 Consumer Vulnerability Register, F-IMS58 Vulnerability Risks Register and F-Q100 Inclusive Design Impact Assessment. The P-115 Consumer Vulnerability Policy and CC-CV1 Code of Conduct for Vulnerable Consumers support the same arrangements.
