Environmental Aspects and Impacts Register Template
An environmental aspects and impacts register that captures the organisation's aspects, their impacts, the applicable legislation and their significance. It holds the same content as the central F-IMS60 Environmental Aspects and Impacts Register, provided here in form format.
It is offered as a form so that organisations with more than one site or location can complete a separate aspects register for each, rather than working in a single central workbook. The per-location registers then feed into the central F-IMS60 register. The content is identical; only the format differs.
Built for ISO 14001:2026 Aspects and Impacts
The register records each aspect and determines its significance the way ISO 14001 clause 6.1.2 requires:
- Aspects under normal, abnormal conditions and emergency situations
- Description of each aspect, its potential impact and the applicable legislation, referenced to IMS1
- A significance determination via the three checks - emergency potential, significant impact and legislative relevance
- Prompts to consider climate change, biodiversity, pollution and resource depletion
What's Included in this Register
The register is a single table with a row per aspect:
- Aspect - covering normal, abnormal conditions and emergency situations
- Description - the aspect, its potential impact on the environment and the applicable legislation (Ref. IMS1)
- Determination of significance - the three checks (emergency potential, significant impact, current legislation) and the resulting significance
- Consider prompts - climate change, biodiversity, pollution and resource depletion
- Controls - how each significant aspect is controlled or influenced
Who Needs this Register?
Organisations running an ISO 14001 environmental management system, and in particular those with multiple sites that need a separate aspects register per location feeding a central register.
Included in the ISO 14001 Toolkit
This form is part of the ISO 14001 Toolkit - example assessments, registers, procedures and guidance for running an environmental management system in one download - and is included in every alphaZ ISO toolkit that covers environmental management.
Pairs with the Central Register and the Aspect Assessment
It mirrors the central F-IMS60 Environmental Aspects and Impacts Register, and individual aspects are assessed on the F-ENV3 Environmental Aspect Assessment.
