ISO 22301 Clause 10 - Improvement

Clause 10 closes the Annex SL plan-do-check-act cycle that runs through the standard. The clause has two sub-clauses: nonconformity and corrective action, and continual improvement. Note that ISO 22301 numbers these the opposite way round to ISO 9001 - in 22301, Clause 10.1 is nonconformity and corrective action, and Clause 10.2 is continual improvement.

Clause 10.1 - Nonconformity and Corrective Action requires the organisation to react to any nonconformity, evaluate the need for action to eliminate the cause, implement and review corrective actions, and make changes to the BCMS as required. Documented information must be retained as evidence of the nature of the nonconformity, the actions taken and the results.

Clause 10.2 - Continual Improvement requires the organisation to continually improve the suitability, adequacy and effectiveness of the BCMS, considering the outputs of analysis and evaluation and management review.
