alphaZ-OUT
| File Reference : | alphaZ-OUT |
The quarterly review of UK legislation and ISO standards changes, written for the person who has to keep a management system compliant.
What has come into force, what is coming, what has moved in the standards, and which registers, procedures and documents each change touches.
Included with the alphaZ Subscription. Every issue we have published sits on the Download Files tab. Anyone can see what is listed there; the download buttons work once you are signed in as a subscriber.
The thing people get wrong is treating compliance obligations as a list you write once. They move, every quarter, and the register has to move with them. This is the reading that keeps a legal register honest rather than historic.
Every issue goes out by email as it is published. Join the mailing list and tick the preference for the updates you want. Already on the list? Use the preferences link at the foot of any update email to change what you receive.
alphaZ-OUT comes with the alphaZ Subscription, together with the full document library, the populated UK legal register and document preparation.
alphaZ-OUT
The Quarterly ISO and UK Legal Update
Every quarter we go through what has changed in UK legislation and in the ISO standards, and write up what it means for a management system that has to stay compliant. That is alphaZ-OUT. It is a PDF, it is written for the person running the system rather than for a lawyer, and every issue we have published stays on this page.
What Each Issue Covers
- What has come into force since the last issue, and what it changes in practice rather than in principle
- What is coming - pending and announced changes, so nothing lands as a surprise
- ISO standards activity - revisions, consultations and publication timetables for the standards we work to
- Updated guidance and approved codes of practice, which move more often than the law itself and matter just as much at audit
- What to do about it - the registers, procedures and documents each change touches
Why It Is Worth the Half Hour
Clause by clause, the standards ask you to determine your compliance obligations, keep them current, and periodically evaluate compliance against them. None of that is difficult. It just needs somebody to notice when something moves, and that is the part that slips.
An out of date legal register is one of the more common findings at audit, and it is almost never because the register was built badly. It is because nothing prompted a review. A quarterly publication is the prompt.
How to Get the Files
Open the Download Files tab above. Every issue we have published is listed there, and the file names carry the quarter and the year so the one you want is easy to find. Click it and the PDF downloads. There is no basket and nothing to check out.
Anyone can see the tab and everything listed on it, with file names and sizes. The download buttons work when you are signed in as an alphaZ subscriber. The archive stays available for as long as you are subscribed, and anything you download is yours to keep.
Or Have It Sent to You
You do not have to remember to come back. Every edition of alphaZ-OUT goes out by email as it is published. Join the mailing list and tick the preference for the updates you want, and it arrives on its own.
Downloading the file itself needs an alphaZ subscription. If you are not subscribed the email still tells you what has been published, so you always know what is here.
Where It Fits
alphaZ-OUT is the update half of the ISO and legal update service. The other half is the populated UK legal register supplied with an alphaZ Subscription. The register tells you what applies to you now; alphaZ-OUT tells you what has moved since.
Read alongside it: the monthly Health and Safety Updates and the monthly Business Health and Compliance Updates.
